The soldier will be honored before he returns to active duty.

The Naugatuck Senior Center will honor Army Staff Sgt. Curtiss Leilich for his volunteer work at the center, Paul Singley reports for the Republican-American.
Leilich will be honored at a luncheon at the center at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Leilich began volunteering at the center a few years ago at an annual senior day celebration and kept coming back to help, the paper reports. Leilich has been an Army recruiter in Greater Waterbury for the past three years and is returning to active duty to a troop in Virginia.
