Terms Of New Naugatuck Firefighters Contract Released: Report

Raises are part of the contract but firefighters will also pay more for health care costs.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Terms of the Naugatuck Fire Union contract have been released and firefighters will receive a 2.5 percent pay increase for each of the next three years, which will cost taxpayers an additional $115,425, the Republican-American reports.

While firefighters will receive raises they also will be paying and contributing more toward their health insurance costs, officials told the Rep-AM. Overtime the health care component will save taxpayers money, officials said.
