The Daddy of All Hot Dogs: The Hippo Dog
Happy belated National Hot Dog day to Al's and all hot dog lovers out there.
This past Tuesday marked National Hot Dog day. Many Americans love a good frankfurter, and if you live in Naugatuck, you know that Al's Hot Dog stand at 248 South Main St. has some of the biggest and best dogs around.
No dog at Al's is bigger and better than the Hippo Dog, a foot longer topped with cheese, chilli, sauerkraut and bacon.
We decided that in honor of our nation's unofficial holiday dedicated to the hot dog, we would take a trip to Al's and find out what goes into the most popular frank in the Borough.
