Union City Little League 10-12 All Stars - 2019 District Champion

The Union City Little League 10-12 All Star team captured the Connecticut District 3 championship on Monday, July 15th.

Naugatuck, CT -The Union City Little League 10-12 All Star team captured the Connecticut District 3 championship on Monday, July 15th by beating the George J. Hummel All-Stars from Seymour by a score of 4-1. The game was played at the Kudej Complex in Shelton.

UCLL finished the tournament undefeated, with victories over Shelton National, Prospect, Robert A. Cole (Beacon Falls) and Peter J. Foley (Naugatuck) as well. The tournament victory represents the fourth year in a row that UCLL has won the district championship in their age group. This team has gone 20-2 in district tournament play since 2016.


Highlights included a 1-hit complete game shutout by JoJo Guzman against Prospect, as well as a complete game victory by Damon Abate and go-ahead 2-run single in the 5th inning by Jason Heyward in the championship game against Seymour.
