Whittemore Library Reopens With Limited In Person Hours

Patrons are asked to limit their browsing of the library's collection to 30 minutes.

NAUGATUCK,CT - The Howard Whittemore Memorial Library in Naugatuck is now open for in person browsing. Patrons are asked to limit their browsing of the library's collection to 30 minutes.

On Monday, the library will be open from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Tuesday hours are 1:00pm until 4:00pm. On Wednesdays the library will be open from 10:00am to 1:00pm and then from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.

On Thursday the library hours are 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Naugatuck residents can apply for library cards from the website under the Join tab.

Curbside services are offered on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 until 6:00pm. Card holders may request items by signing into their account on the Whittemore website or by emailing or calling the library. Books and DVDs may be placed to the boxes outside the library for contactless return, and late fees are being waved.

After signing into their online account, patrons are able to maintain a list of items in which they are interested and then request a hold for curbside pickup. Borrowers may choose to be notified by phone or email when their items are ready for pick up.

One-hour use of the library's computers is by appointment only when the library is open.

With 150 subscribers and many hundreds of books offered every month, the library's Book Box service has hit the big time. Many hours of work, consideration, and planning goes into each month's boxes, not to mention the little treats.

Please note that Whittemore Library is not accepting donations at this time.
