Winding Wheel Coffee Bar and Cafe in Woodbury

The coffee bar and cafe is located next door to the newly opened Elizabeth Richard.

Tim and Samantha Dunbar invite you to The Winding Wheel Coffeebar and Cafe located in the Barclay Shopping Plaza at 20 Ben Sherman Hill Road in Woodbury. The couple’s dream to share healthy, homey food and gourmet coffees and espressos in an inviting atmosphere was achieved in January of 2015.

Both husband and wife have worked many years in the restaurant industry. Their accumulated experience includes a wide range from serving at a diner all the way to professional culinary education and fine-dining experience. The shared enthusiasm for delicious nutritious foods combined with the desire to showcase local talented bakers, coffee roasters, farmers, artists, and photographers culminated in the creation of Winding Wheel.

The owners of the shop credit Julie and Martin of Farmhouse Antiques at 495 Main Street for the painstaking detail they put into creating and locating many of the focal pieces in the cafe. Woody Mosch Cabinetmakers in Bethlehem installed the gorgeous counter-space. Mark Albino and crew of Renaissance Builders in Watertown were in charge of gutting and then masterfully fabricating and installing the custom wainscoting and flooring. They are grateful to Martin Brown-for the original floor plan; the Devinos for the build out, Maureen Caceci, the brilliant interior designer who pulled all of these artisans together to create their incredible atmosphere.

As a new business, they welcome feedback. The menu items are likely to change as they move forward. They plan on carrying some gluten free options, but warn shoppers that they may not be able to accommodate those who are truly Celiac. They try not to cross-contaminate common allergens and ask visitors to make them aware of their diet.
