A former employee is suing a surgeon claiming he sexually abused and harassed her.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — A Naugatuck woman has filed a suit against a Middlebury surgeon claiming she was sexually harassed while working for him as a medical assistant, according to The Republican-American. The woman has also told police that Giuseppi Tripodi, 69, sexually assaulted her while she was an employee.

Tripodi, who operated Middlebury Surgical, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault in March and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in Waterbury Superior Court seeks unspecified damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress, The Republican-American reported.
