The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on South Main Street.
NEWTOWN, CT — Three people were injured — two seriously — Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on South Main Street in Newtown, according to Newtown police.
The drivers of two of the vehicles were transported to Danbury Hospital following the 12:10 p.m. crash, while the third driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The conditions of the two seriously injured drivers were not available.
Police said a truck towing a trailer traveling northbound veered into the southbound lane and hit another vehicle head-on. In an attempt to avoid being hit by the truck, a third vehicle drove off the road into a ditch, but was clipped by the truck's trailer.
