20-Year-Old Arrested for Possession of 21 Ounces of Marijuana

A 20-year-old was arrested in Newtown after police caught him with more than 21 ounces of marijuana after a traffic stop. BREAKING

NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown police arrested a 20-year-old Portland, Oregon man after they pulled over the driver of the vehicle he was riding in early Friday morning at approximately 1:18 p.m., according to Newtown police. Officers pulled over the vehicle at 182 South Main Street in Newtown for failure to drive right, police said.

After the car was pulled over, police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and subsequently found more than 21 ounces of marijuana. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia near a school, illegal sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified by police.

Davis was given a $2,500 bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on Jan. 20917.
