Botsford Drive-In To Close In Newtown
The restaurant will close soon, but another will take its place. Do you have any favorite memories?

NEWTOWN, CT — Botsford Drive-In will close after more than 40 years in business. The drive-in is a popular spot on Route 25 for hot dogs and hamburgers and until recently was Newtown’s only drive-in. An application has been filed with the town to turn the famous hot dog joint into Patty’s Pantry.
The plan calls for adding nearly 1,300 square feet to the existing building, repaving the parking lot and adding new landscaping. The renovated building would have a full drive-thru.
Patty’s Pantry has an existing Southbury location that sells fried chicken, sandwiches and salads. According to their social media, "We're a small family business, open seven days a week. All our food is homemade and our famous fried chicken is a must have."

Botsford owners Kris and Tina Castagna said their business will close Nov. 30, according to News 12.
There will be half a dozen picnic tables outside and a few stools at the counter at the new restaurant, according to meeting minutes from the town Design Advisory Board. The board voted unanimously to recommend approval of the application to the land use agency with a few relatively minor design changes.
