Car vs. Pedestrian Accidents Lead to Additional Patrols

The Newtown Police Department will be monitoring crosswalks during the month of August, reports the News-Times.

A number of recent car vs. pedestrian accidents have prompted this move and the focus of the operation is to raise awareness of pedestrian safety and reduce the number of accidents with pedestrians.

If a driver fails to yield to a pedestrian, he or she will receive a ticket.
