Chamber of Commerce of Newtown Launches 2018 Business of the Year

The Chamber of Commerce of Newtown, and The Rotary Club of Newtown, announce the 2018 Business of the Year Award program.

This community wide program includes an initial nomination cycle that runs from 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26th through 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11th. Nominations can be made online at www.newtown-ct.com

Cast your nominations for your favorite local businesses in the following four categories:

• New Business: A business that has been operating in the Town of Newtown for 1 year or less and has demonstrated good business practices, while delivering superior products and or services.
• Longevity: A business that has been operating in the Town of Newtown for 10 years or more and has demonstrated good business practices, while delivering superior products and or services.
• Philanthropy: A business that operates in the Town of Newtown and consistently shows exemplary philanthropic support of the community through financial donations or volunteerism.
• Overall Achievement: A business that operates in the Town of Newtown, is a good steward of the community and demonstrates outstanding business practices and excellence in customer service.

Following nominations, finalists are chosen by the selection committee comprised of members of the Rotary and Chamber. Finalists will be announced on February 23rd, and then voting begins. The finalists will attend the joint awards dinner on Monday March 19th at the Newtown Country Club, where the highlight of the evening is the presentation to the winners.
