Connecticut Final Snowfall Totals Town-By-Town, 1/4/18

The latest snowfall totals from across the state.

A large chunk of Connecticut saw near-blizzard conditions as snow fell at rates of one to two inches per hour with gusts in excess of 40 mph. Most of the state received nearly one foot of snow. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Friday for New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties. An additional 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall here, winds could gust to 55 mph at times and wind chills could be as low as 20 below zero.

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for all of Southern Connecticut and a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Fairfield County. A Winter Storm Warning and Wind Chill Watch are in effect for Hartford and Tolland counties as wind chill factors could dip to 25 below zero at times. Blowing and drifting snow will also make it hard to see, the weather service said. A Winter Weather Advisory and Wind Chill Warning are in effect for Litchfield County and it could feel as cold as 35 below zero at times on Friday and Saturday.

Friday and this weekend are shaping up to be a weather nightmare. On Friday, daytime highs are forecast to be in the low teens and it will feel like 10 below zero. Temps will drop to zero Friday, with wind chill readings once again below zero. (Follow Patch's CT Snow Coverage With Our Free Real-Time News Alerts.)

It will moderate to the low teens again Saturday, and Sunday we could reach maybe 20 degrees — just in time for more snow (possibly) Monday night. The silver lining is that all next week temps are shaping up to be in the mid 30s. We'll certainly take it.

Power outages — knock on wood — haven't been a major factor so far. That high was 2,100 outages in Connecticut as of 7 p.m., which had been reduced to less than 600.
