Q&A with Town Officials: Meet with Pat Llodra and John Reed to get answers on the Oct. 5 ballot referendum for Sandy Hook Elementary School. Two more meetings are scheduled: Monday, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Thursday, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

KidZ Sports Zone: The Newtown Youth Academy kicks off its new after-school program for kids October 2. $50 for four weeks; see link for details.

Chill & Spill: A program for teachers, counselors and others who work with kids to learn effective therapeutic tools. Friday and Saturday at Newtown Congregational Church.

Walk 4 Water: The second annual event to raise awareness and funds for the world's water poverty problem. Starts 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Fairfield Hills.

Fruit Tree Planting and Harvest Festival: See trees planted in memory of 12/14 victims and hear Boplicity play at the Harvest Festival. Starts 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Victory Garden in Fairfield Hills.
