Man Accused In Newtown Stabbing: Police
Charles Tyler faces several charges after he stabbed one person and tried to stab another, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Stratford man is accused of stabbing a person during a fight at a Newtown condo complex, according to police.
The incident happened Thursday night on South Main Street, Newtown police said in a Facebook post. Charles Tyler attempted to stab a person with a knife, and when a second person tried to intervene, Tyler stabbed that person in the hand instead, according to police. Both people were known to Tyler, police said, and the injured person was taken to a hospital.
Tyler, 62, was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree threatening and breach of peace, police said. His bond was set at $50,000.
