Mary Scinto Van Oyan - Obituary

Mary Scinto Van Oyan, age 55 of Rhinebeck, NY, died peacefully on May 12, 2020 at the Ferncliff-Archcare Health Center, after a long courageous battle with Huntington’s disease. Born in Hartford on September 25, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Frank D. and Theresa M. DelMastro Scinto. Mary was raised in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School. She worked as a hairdresser for many years, until the time of her illness. Mrs. Van Oyan is survived by her devoted daughters, Jessica, Cassie and Megan Van Oyan, as well as five cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by a dedicated aunt, Elinor Hill and her husband, Harry, of Milford; an uncle, Daniel Scinto of FL; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Frank J. Scinto. Due to the social restrictions of the Covid-19 Pandemic, all funeral services are private.
