Barricaded Person Removed From Home Safely: Newtown PD
Police and medical personnel were able to get a person in need of crisis intervention out of a barricaded outbuilding safely.
NEWTOWN, CT — A person who barricaded themselves in the Riverside Road area of town was safely removed and sent to the hospital for evaluation, according to police.
Police and medical personnel arrived at a Riverside Road residence for a person who was in need of crisis intervention around 1 p.m. Thursday. The person managed to break free and ran from police and barricaded themselves in a secured outbuilding.
“The officers on scene did an outstanding job all around keeping the subject safe. We really couldn’t be prouder of the way the Danbury Region Emergency Services Unit handled this very difficult situation along with the Newtown officers that are a part of this integral team," said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde, police spokesman.
