Newtown Police Get AAA Honor for Traffic Safety Programs

The following is a press release from AAA.

AAA Southern New England – CT recently honored the Newtown Police Department with a Gold Award for the department’s outstanding traffic safety programs that include an active child passenger safety program, an aggressive drunk driving enforcement campaign; and a strong motor vehicle enforcement program, among other initiatives. In addition, AAA honored Officer Steven Siecienski as a department-nominated Traffic Safety Hero for his work involving drunk driving. Leading the department in 2012 drunk driving arrests, Officer Siecienski made 493 motor vehicle stops and issued some type of citation for 429 of them.
