Newtown Police Seek Public's Help In Vandalism Investigation
Several mailboxes were damaged by being removed from their posts and taken, according to police.
NEWTOWN, CT — Police are investigating mailbox vandalism in the area of Taunton Hill and Taunton Ridge Roads.
Several mailboxes in that neighborhood were damaged by being removed from their posts and taken, according to the Newtown Police Department. The vandalism occurred sometime during the Monday-into-Tuesday overnight, according to police.
Most of the mailboxes were recovered in the same area where they were taken, but there are still some that are missing.

"We are asking that our walking and jogging community in that area keep an eye out for the missing mailboxes alongside the road, and if found give the police department a call so we can return them to the owners," the PD said in a statement.
Anyone with more information about the vandalism is asked to contact the Newtown Police Department and refer to incident number 2020-12753.
