Newtown Schools Website Hacked: Reports
The Newtown Public Schools' website fell victim to hackers early Monday morning.

NEWTOWN, CT — The school district's website was one of over 800 nationwide that fell victim to a widespread internet hack Monday morning. NBC Connecticut reports the schools' website displayed a photo of Saddam Hussein and the words "There is no God but God. Mohamad is the profit of God."
Interim Superintendent, Dr. Lorrie Rodrigue said the hack took place around 4 a.m. A group named Team System DZ claimed responsibility for the attack, and the website was operational by 7 a.m.
The website was down one hour later, as Rodrigue said she wanted to ensure it was not hacked again.

WFSB reports all of the school websites that were hacked are hosted by Georgia-based Schooldesk.
Rodrigue requested increased police presence at Newtown's schools, strictly a reaction to the hacking. WFSB reported despite the increased security, school officials do not believe there is any danger to students.
