Newtown Storm Damage: 12 Homes Condemned

NEWTOWN, CT -- Ten homes in Lakeview Terrace and two more in the Lake Zoar area of Newtown have been condemned due to damage from last week’s storms, NBC Connecticut has reported.

Newtown was among the hardest hit by the storms that tore through southwestern Connecticut on May 15. As of 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, a week later, Eversource is reporting that 6 customers, or 0.05 percent of their service area in the town, are still without power. The utility had approximately 100 line and tree crews working in town today and will have crews working through the evening.
