Newtown's First Free Movie Night Promises Family Fun & High Energy Dance Party
Newtown Prevention Council and Parks & Recreation are planning a night of movies, dancing and fun for the first ever free movie night.
NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown Parks & Recreation and the Newtown Prevention Council have joined forces to bring residents a free outdoor movie night on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 on the Fairfield Hills soccer field. The screening will feature Disney's recent release, Zootopia.
The family-friendly community event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with a high-energy dance party provided by hip-hop artist and DJ Austin Dailey of Red Supreme Productions. The movie is scheduled to begin at dusk, sometime around 8:30 p.m.
Admission is free. Attendees should bring a blanket or chairs for seating. Concessions including water, popcorn, candy and ice cream will be available to purchase. Please leave pets and alcoholic beverages at home. Parking will be available throughout Fairfield Hills and at Reed Intermediate School.

In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be postponed until Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
