Obituary: Helen Lola (Continello) La Belle, 94, of Newtown

Helen, a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, previously worked at Indecor, Inc. for many years.

NEWTOWN, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) Helen Lola (Continello) La Belle, age 94 of Newtown, died February 14, 2021. Born on March 13, 1926 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Raphael Continello and Sarah (Minicucci) Continello.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth E. La Belle, sisters, Marie (Continello) Tortora, Rita (Continello) Cerbasie and her brother Edmund Continello.

Survived by her sons, Craig (Mary Beth) La Belle of Williamsburg, VA and Christopher (Margaret) La Belle of Middlebury, CT and her grandchildren, Maren, Nathan and Sarah La Belle.

Following graduation from high school, Helen married Ken and together they resided in Milford for 45 years where they raised their family.

While living in Milford, Helen held positions at Indecor, Inc., as well as several other local businesses until her retirement.

After Ken’s death, Helen returned to Waterbury for 18 years before she moved to the Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Newtown.

Helen was a long-time member of Saint Ann Church in Milford and the Blessed Sacrament in Waterbury.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the quality care and compassion they provided over the past few years.
