Sandy Hook Man Charged with Violating Protective Order

Newtown Police arrested a 22-year-old Sandy Hook man May 16 on a charge of violation of a protective order while officers were on their way to serve him with a warrant for other charges.

While en route to serve the warrant, police said officers observed the man in the vehicle of a woman who has the protective order against him. The man, Joshua G. Adams, of Jo Mar Drive, was arrested on a charge of violation of a protective order, a felony.

He was also arrested by warrant charging him with failure to obey a control signal, reckless driving, driving a vehicle with intent to harass, and violation of a protective order. Police said those charges stem from an incident on April 10. 

Adams' bond was set at $10,000 for the warrant charges and $10,000 for the charge of violation of a protective order.
