Sandy Hook Truther Arrested for Making Death Threats Against Victim's Family
Federal authorities said that a Florida woman was arrested for threatening a Sandy Hook family because she felt the massacre was a hoax.
SANDY HOOK, CT — A Florida woman has been charged with making death threats against the parent of a child who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, just weeks before the 4-year anniversary, according to federal authorities.
The U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement that Lucy Richards, 57, of Tampa, Florida, made the threats because she believed the shootings were a hoax. The department didn't release the parent's identity or location but did say that the Sandy Hook family relocated to Florida.
According to the court record in this case, including allegations made at the initial hearing, on or about Jan. 10, 2016, Richards made a series of death threats to a parent of a child killed in the Sandy Hook School shooting. The parent resides in South Florida. Richards believed that the school shooting was a hoax and never happened, which allegedly motivated her to make the charged threats.
