Soccer Field Vandalized in Newtown: Police

The damaged field is on Keating Farms Avenue.

NEWTOWN, CT — Local authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying who vandalized a soccer field in Newtown by driving circles on it that gouged deep groves into the turf, according to Newtown police.

The vandalized field is on Keating Farms Avenue, and police believe the incident occurred sometime during the overnight hours between Oct. 9 and 10.

"The grass of the soccer field had sustained damage from an unidentified vehicle, driving over it in circles," police said in a statement. "The vehicle caused some deep groves to be made into the turf of the soccer field."
