Special Election Set For Newtown And Monroe Seat
A special election will be held to fill a state representative seat that covers Monroe and parts of Newtown.
NEWTOWN, CT — Gov. Ned Lamont has set April 13 as the date for a special election to fill the 112th state representative seat that represents all of Monroe and part of Newtown.
The seat became vacant Feb. 17 after Rep. J.P. Sredzinski resigned.
Under state law the governor needs to issue an order for a special election within 10 days of a vacancy and a special election is held exactly 46 days after the order is issued.
