This Week in Newtown: New Years at the Foundry, Static Man

Here's a look at what's going on this week in Newtown:

A Young Israeli Speaks Out: After three years in an Israeli Defense Force combat unit, 21-year-old Nadav Weijel shares his views. Starts 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Congregation Adath Israel.

Read to Maggie: Kids can read stories to Maggie the comfort dog at C.H. Booth Public Library Sunday and Monday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

EverWonder Presents Static Man: Calling all scientists and superheroes! On December 30th, we will be learning about static at The EverWonder Experience. Join us as we conduct a Static Man experiment. 10:00 a.m. Sunday and Monday at EverWonder.

New Years at the Foundry: This year Foundry Kitchen & Tavern will be hosting a special New Year’s Eve celebration. The event includes a fixed four course menu, a D.J. complementing  the evening’s festivities with music and dancing at their newly renovated Warner Loft, and a champagne toast to kick off the New Year at midnight. Festivities start 4:30 p.m.

Downton Abbey Tea: Celebrate the return of Downtown Abbey in true aristocratic fashion, with tea, dainty tidbits and period costumes at C.H. Booth Library. Runs from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
