Two I-84 Exits in Newtown Will Close This Week

NEWTOWN, CT —The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced the closure of two exits on Interstate 84 for two nights.

The DOT is closing the Exit 10 ramp westbound from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. on May 15 and 16.

The Exit 9 ramp eastbound will be closed the following two nights, from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. on May 17 and 18.

The closures and detours are "necessary to facilitate construction/safety improvement activities on I-84 in Newtown," according to the DOT.

• Westbound Exit 10 off-ramp: Take exit 9 and follow signs to Route 25 to Route 6 to detour.
• Eastbound Exit 10 on-ramp: Follow detour Route 6 to Route 25 to I-84 WB.

I-84 Eastbound Exit 9 Detour
• Eastbound Exit 9 off-ramp: Take exit 10 follow Route 25 detour.
• Eastbound Exit 9 on-ramp: Follow Route 25 detour to exit 10.
