WATCH: 43 Million Views in 4 Days: Sandy Hook Promise Releases Gun Violence PSA

#KnowTheSigns is the hashtag Sandy Hook Promise using to raise awareness to prevent gun violence. The group recently released a PSA.

SANDY HOOK, CT — Sandy Hook Promise has released a powerful new gun violence prevention video in order to raise awareness that gun violence can be prevented if people know the signs. The video has garnered over 4 million views on YouTube and 43 million on Fox News in just four days since its release.

The setting is a typical American high school. In the opening of the video opening, the viewer is led to believe that the male student seen writing anonymous messages on a library desk is the one to be concerned about, however, upon taking a closer look, viewers will discover a shocking truth at the end when an incident occurs that is meant to wake people up to the signs of mass shootings and what to pay attention to.

Nicole Hockley lost her son Dylan in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in 2012 that left 20 children and six educators dead at the hands of a 2o-year-old lone male gunman. Since the shooting, parents of the victims have launched groups to help prevent tragedies through mental health research (The Avielle Foundation, Ana Grace Project), gun violence awareness (Moms Demand Action, Sandy Hook Promise) and more.

Hockley is co-founder of the Sandy Hook Promise, a nonprofit that produced the video. Hockley said she hopes it will be a learning tool for parents, teachers and students. "The more we can educate, the more we can train, the more we can help."
