Featuring 5 Hip Hop Performers

Limited Theater Seating & Virtual Ticket Options
May 15, 2021 at the Wall Street Theater

The Glorious Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit founded to encourage people recovering from alcohol and drug addiction to stay in recovery, announced that its first public event since the pandemic shut down last March will be a special spring concert: GOODSTOCK. The substance and alcohol-free show features five Hip Hop performers all in recovery themselves: B-RAiN, Joe Nester, KC Makes Music, REM ONE, and Colicchie.

The May 15th show at the Wall Street Theater in Norwalk, Connecticut will be adhering to all Connecticut and CDC guidelines and will offer a limited number of in-person seats as well a live streaming service to enjoy the concert from anywhere in the US.

Glorious Recovery founder, Aleksa Bembnista, hailed the event as an “incredible evening of unity, love, compassion, and recovery. We’ve all waited long enough and finally, it’s time to get together safely, listen to these amazing artists and celebrate our lives sober-style! “

As COVID-19 touched everyone across the world, the forced isolation and loss of face-to-face recovery support services severely impacted those suffering from addiction. The statistics are staggering and SAMHSA recently reported a huge increase in the number of overdoses and persons struggling with substance use disorder.

“With Connecticut increasing the capacity in music venues to 225, we finally have an opportunity for the recovery community to gather and celebrate each other during these challenging times,” explained Bembnista. “We understand that individuals entering recovery life are financially drained from treatment, from job loss, or even worse, incarceration. We strive to make our events affordable so everyone can attend regardless of their financial status.”

Here is what you can expect from GOODSTOCK:

Great music - The dedication of these musicians to help others in recovery is widespread as their fans travel great distances to attend their shows.

Sober-style Summer Kick-Off- These past twelve months have been super challenging for anyone struggling with addiction and even those in recovery. With almost all social gatherings and get-togethers being canceled, many suffered from isolation and lack of human contact. It's time to re-start our lives, spend time together and enjoy the music.

Unity - This event provides a unique opportunity to unite teens, young adults, parents, kids, prevention organizations, allies of recovery, and the recovery community to fight addiction together, to spread the message of hope, and to show the world what recovery looks like.

The Glorious Recovery Foundation (GR) was established just over two years ago by two enterprising and dedicated Connecticut women, Aleksandra Bembnista and Dorota Trojak, who wanted to celebrate their sobriety and the power of a substance-free healthy life with others by organizing events full of love, compassion and support. By providing fun, substance-free events, GR encourages people to remain sober and achieve long term recovery. In the face of the unrelenting epidemic and the spread of fentanyl, relapses can often lead to death. Glorious Recovery is all about helping people overcome the disease of addiction and live full lives.
