All Roads Open In Norwalk Following Flooding: Police
Over 50 roads in Norwalk were impacted by Tropical Storm Elsa earlier in the day, however they have all reopened, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — Over 50 roads in Norwalk were impacted by Tropical Storm Elsa earlier in the day, however they have all reopened, according to police.
Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the city had "quite a bit of localized flooding" as a result of the storm Friday morning, but it has subsided as of 4:30 p.m.
"There were several disabled vehicles," Gulino said, "including those operated by persons who chose to drive around barricades and police cruisers which were blocking passage to unsafe areas."

Gulino said the department did have a surge in calls roughly between 8 a.m. and noon.
"As of [4:30 p.m.], all roadways are open and operations have returned to normal," Gulino said.

Earlier in the day, city spokesperson Josh Morgan said about 58 roads in Norwalk had been impacted by the storm, however less than five had been deemed impassable.
According to Morgan, the roads were mostly impacted by flooding issues, as well as some downed trees or power lines.
"We are faring okay during the storm," Morgan said around 11 a.m.
Calf Pasture Beach and Veterans Park were closed Friday morning due to flooding, however Morgan said both areas should be open Saturday.
"We want to encourage residents to stay off the roads if they can, and if they are out, to be mindful of the conditions," Morgan said. "They should not, under any circumstance, move construction barrels or cones that are blocking roads. Those are there for a reason and to keep people safe."
Around 10:15 a.m., police said on Twitter Connecticut Avenue by Stop and Shop, Fitch Street, Strawberry Hill Road by Fitch Street and Meadow Street were closed to all traffic.
"We have numerous vehicles that have become disabled in [standing] water along our roadways," police said on Twitter. "Motorists should avoid standing water and use alternate routes."
