Childhood Obesity Prevention Event In Norwalk Aug. 24

Proceeds to benefit Norwalk Community Health Center's Healthy Beginnings Childhood Obesity Prevention programs.

NCHC:A special Saturday Sky Zone Norwalk Glow will benefit Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc. (NCHC)’s NCHC Healthy Beginnings/Childhood Obesity Prevention. Sky Zone Norwalk at 360 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Norwalk, CT 06854 will donate a portion of ticket sales between 6 pm and 9 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019 to the nonprofit healthcare organization. The event is appropriate for ages 8 through adult.

This will be the third time that Sky Zone and the Norwalk Community Health Center have partnered to focus on getting and keeping children and teens moving, to prevent childhood obesity. For the August 24 Glow, patrons who mention the Health Center when purchasing tickets at Sky Zone Norwalk will receive a $5 discount off of the $25.ticket price for three hours of jumping, Glow dodgeball, neon face painting, music and a DJ.

NCHC is a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center and a level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home that provides comprehensive health and dental care to men, women and children in Fairfield County, regardless of ability to pay. The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) named NCHC a 2018 Health Center Quality Leader.

What started out and remains a safety net for 15% of greater Norwalk men, women, and children in 1999 who are uninsured, underinsured or otherwise unable to find health care within reach, has evolved into a continuum of care organization and provider of choice for pediatric, women’s, adult, behavioral and adult and pediatric dental health and wellness services. NCHC currently provides services for 13,000 patients at its 120 Connecticut Ave., Norwalk location and aboard its Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) in Norwalk and Westport.

Norwalk Community Health Center is marking its 20th year of providing quality and innovative health and wellness care in greater Norwalk with a series of Causes for Celebration.
