Concert on the Beach, Food Drive and More

Here are a few things to know about Norwalk for Wednesday, July 31, to help you plan your day. Check out the Patch calendar of events for more things to do.

1. The weather: The forecast is predicting a high of 81 degrees and a 20 percent chance of rain.
2. Talk to an author with Norwalk ties: Dorothy H. Hayes, author of Murder at the P&Z, will be at the Norwalk Public Library Wednesday. Her new mystery novel references key locations and streets around Wilton and Norwalk. See the event page to register.
   
3. Free concert on the beach: There will be a Neil Diamond tribute concert Wednesday at Calf Pasture Beach. The event begins at 6:30 with Dinoman and his life-size inflatable dinosaurs. Bring a picnic and comfortable seating, and find out more details here.
   
4. Help out at a food bank drive: Platinum Property Real Estate is holding a food bank drive this week. Donate between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or stop by the company's one-year anniversary party Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a raffle. For more information, click here.
   
5. Relax at a free yoga class: The Norwalk Public Library will be having two free yoga classes Wednesday, taught by Sarawati's Yoga Joint teachers. The class from 5 to 5:30 p.m. is for children ages 3 to 12 and their parents or caregivers, and the class from 6 to 7 p.m. is for teenagers and adults. Both events are in the Main Library's Full Auditorium, and though no registration is required, there is only space for 60 people. For more information, call 203-899-2780.
