COPS: Norwalk Man Bites, Holds Sword to Women’s Neck
The victim's ex-boyfriend came to the rescue after she was able to call him from her cell phone.

A 24-year-old Norwalk man allegedly assaulted and held a “Samurai” sword to a female victim’s neck after she returned home at about 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, police said.  Â
The man reportedly put a sword up to the victim’s throat and said that he was going to kill her, the arrest report states.  Â
The suspect allegedly scratched the victim’s chest before choking her with both hands to the point where she nearly passed out, police said.  Â
The victim had her cell phone in her hand and was able to dial her ex-boyfriend’s phone number. Although she did not speak with her former boyfriend, he was able to hear what was happening, police said.  Â
The man rushed to the victim’s house to find the suspect “man handling” her.  The victim's ex-boyfriend then bear hugged the suspect and brought him to the ground, police said.
Following the altercation, the victim went to police headquarters to make a complaint because the abuse had been ongoing and she realized that “he can no longer do this,” the report states.  Â
On Monday morning Norwalk police charged Daniel Pratt, of 27 Honey Hill, Norwalk, with third-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree threatening, according to an arrest report.  Â
Pratt posted a $5,000 bond. He was arraigned on Monday.
