Historical Beer Tasting and Gathering of the Vibes

Here are a few things to know about Norwalk for Thursday, July 25 to help you plan your day. Check out the Patch calendar of events for more things to do.

  1. The weather: The forecast is predicting a few showers, though only a 30 percent chance of rain, and temperatures of up to 73 degrees.
  2. Educational beer tasting: The Norwalk Historical Society is having a Summer Beer Tasting from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mill Hill Historic Park. Beer expert Gregg Glaser will be there to talk about the history of beer in New England. There will be eight to 10 beers from Connecticut breweries to taste and appetizers will be available. Tickets are $30, but seating is limited, so visit Norwalk Historical Society's website to buy tickets.
  3. Go to a festival: The St. Ann Italian Feast begins at 6 p.m. Thursday at 16 Hendricks Street. Admission is free. There will be rides for children, food and other entertainment all weekend. See the event page for more details.
  4. Learn to knot pearls: Beadworks Norwalk is having a class at 5:30 p.m. where you can learn to knot pearls and semi-precious stones with silk thread. The class costs $35 and you will take a finished piece of jewelry home with you. Call 203-852-9194 for more details.
  5. Hear some good vibes: The Gathering of the Vibes festival begins at noon and continues through Sunday in Bridgeport. There are bands and activities for the whole family, including hair wraps, a Ferris wheel and arts and crafts, with weekend camping passes priced at $225. Visit the event page for more information.
