Victim in Fatal I-95 Pedestrian Accident Not Yet ID'd: UPDATE

The crash occurred Sunday night in Norwalk, and state police troopers are asking for the public's help in identifying the victim.

NORWALK, CT — A man was killed Sunday night when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on I-95 in Norwalk, and state police troopers are asking for the public's help in identifying him, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at about 9:15 p.m. on the northbound side of the thruway between exits 15 and 16. Initially, state police received emergency calls that two men were seen walking on the thruway.

"Moments later, callers advised Troop G that a pedestrian was struck and was at a final rest in the left lane," state police said.

After the initial crash, the victim was "struck numerous times by passing vehicles," and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. He is described as Hispanic; state police did not offer any additional information on the second man.

A 17-year-old Westport girl was driving the Volkswagen Jetta that initially struck the victim. As of Wednesday, She has not been charged in connection with the crash.

"Next of kin notification has not yet been made as Pedestrian #1 has not been positively identified," state police said. "This incident is still under investigation and active."
