How To Get Rid Of Your Christmas Trees In Norwalk

Here's how you can get rid of your Christmas trees in Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — For City of Norwalk residents that receive city garbage collection, Christmas trees will be collected twice during the month of January 2019:

  • Monday, Jan. 7 – Friday, Jan. 11
  • Monday, Jan. 14 – Friday, Jan. 18

According to a press release, residents are asked to please have all trees curbside by 6 a.m. on the Monday of the above collection weeks. Plastic bags, decorations and lights are not allowed. (To sign up for Norwalk breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Beginning Monday, Jan. 7, the winter hours for the Yard Waste Site will be as follows:

  • Monday through Friday - 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Closed Saturday & Sunday

The scale closes for lunch from approximately 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be two Saturdays in January 2019 when the site will be open for Christmas tree and yard waste drop-off:

  • Saturday, Jan. 12 - 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 19 - 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The site may also close due to winter weather and at the discretion of the Department of Public Works. Please visit www.norwalkct.org for additional information about closures.
