The husband-and-wife team shares with Patch the Remember Me beginnings and the worry-free promise they keep to families whose lives they touch.

Patch: The Remember Me story is something that is very close to your hearts. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind its inception?

Keith: We started taking care of family plots for my sister in Sag Harbor, New York when she was unable to take care of them anymore. Even though it was a two-hour ride, we enjoyed tending to the family plots and we wished there was someone living closer to water the gardens regularly throughout the summer. This inspired us to start our own business helping others to start and maintain a commemorative garden for their loved one.

Patch: How do you avail yourself as the bridge between the customer and the departed loved one? What is the Remember Me vision?

Debbie: We feel that, for customers who are living out of town or state are too busy with their daily lives, confined to their homes or hospital bed, we provide our services by planting and maintaining their loved one's final resting place.

Patch: You offer a “no worries” promise to all your customers. Tell us a little bit about what this means and how it’s kept.

Keith: Customer satisfaction is our top priority. If, for some reason, we lose a plant to disease or an animal, we will replace it for free with our maintenance service. We feel that, if we plant a garden, we have to offer maintenance to keep it beautiful and healthy.

Patch: What services are available for customers no longer living in the Fairfield County area or who might be homebound?

Debbie: After planting the garden, for customers who are out of town or homebound, we can provide photos via email, postal service or text.

Patch: Some readers might be interested in commemorating special occasions. How can Remember Me contribute in that regard?

Keith: We are able to provide basically anything for any occasion, whether it be a special birthday, anniversary, holiday, etcetera. We have beautiful topiaries from California that we can incorporate in the garden and can provide statuary or favorite plantings.

Patch: How is the garden maintained?

Debbie: We offer a weekly maintenance service, which includes watering as necessary up to three times a week, mulching, weeding, deadheading of plants, fertilizing and animal-control spraying. We also offer cleaning of the stone with a soft scrub brush and organic cleaner to remove mildew and dirt.

Patch: How do you measure the success of your work?

Keith: We measure the success of our work by the satisfaction and appreciation of our customers. We do not walk away until everyone is satisfied.

Patch: What’s next for Remember Me? How do you envision the future?

Keith: We are concentrating on creating and offering beautiful commemorative gardens to our customers. If we are successful with that, our business will grow.

Patch: Our readers care about their communities and the people living and working within them. How can they reach out to you for more information or to otherwise stay up-to-date on Remember Me Cemetery Gardens specials and happenings?

Debbie: Customers can visit our website at www.rmcemeterygardens.com or follow us on Facebook. We are always updating with new pictures and ideas.
