Mother and 14-Year-Old Daughter Charged with Shoplifting
The pair were arrested at Kohl's store after walking out wearing clothing not paid for, according to a report.

A Norwalk mother and her 14-year-old daughter were charged with shoplifting on Friday after store detectives at Kohl’s stopped them in the store’s parking lot of the Connecticut Avenue store, Norwalk police said, according to a report in the Hour.
According to the report (an accusation not proven in court):
The pair had entered the changing rooms and each put on clothes from the store, then left. Store personnel stopped them in the parking lot. They were wearing clothes with a total price of $1,162.

The mother, Gualdina Fuentes-Padilla de Lopez, 33, of Cedar St., told police she planned to sell the clothing in order to send money to relatives in Honduras. She was charged with fourth-degree larceny and released without bond. She is scheduled to appear May 12 in state Superior Court in Norwalk. Her daughter was charged as a juvenile.
