Norwalk 2019 Memorial Day Parade Road Closures Announced
Police have announced the following temporary road closures in Norwalk for the 2019 Memorial Day Parade.
NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department has announced the following temporary road closures along route of the Memorial Day Parade, scheduled to take place Monday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m. According to a press release, the Interstate 95 Exit 16 ramps will be closed from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The parade starts at Veterans Park in East Norwalk and proceeds east on Van Zant Street, then north on East Avenue prior to concluding at the Norwalk Green. Van Zant Street, East Avenue (south of Route 1) and the northbound and southbound ramps of Exit 16 will be closed to all traffic.
"This closure will allow Norwalk’s Memorial Day Parade to proceed safely to the Norwalk Green," Lieutenant Terrence Blake said in a release. "Variable message signs located along I-95 and at the Exit 16 ramps will serve to notify motorists of the Exit 16 closure."
