The cyclist, riding with a group (including her daughter) in the Sound Cyclist Bicycle Club, was on Five Mile River Road near its intersection with Tokeneke Road when the cyclists passed the jogger who was headed in the other direction.

The lead rider in the group called behind to tell others of the jogger they were about to pass, but she assumes the cyclist who got hurt didn’t hear the warning. Members of the group are told to ride three feet away from pedestrians they pass on roads.

The jogger, a 57-year-old Darien woman, said she moved over to the edge of the grass when the bike riders came up.

When police arrived, the Norwalk woman was lying on the grass with the jogger and cyclists around her. The woman kept on asking the same question over and over (the police report didn’t say what that question was) and was confused about what day it was and where she was. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
