Norwalk To Lift Snow Emergency Wednesday At 10 a.m., Mayor Says

Norwalk Public Schools will again hold remote instruction for students on Wednesday.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk will lift the snow emergency the city has been under since Monday at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, Mayor Harry Rilling announced.

Vehicles that had been parked for free at the Yankee Doodle and Maritime garages must be removed by that time.

Additionally, City Hall and government facilities, including parks, will be open Wednesday at regular hours.

Norwalk Public Schools will have students on remote learning again on Wednesday, to allow additional time for sidewalks and bus stops to be cleared.

"As a reminder, residents and property owners are required to clear sidewalks within 24 hours after a storm," education officials wrote on Facebook. "Thank you for helping make our sidewalks and bus stops safe for children."

This is from the mayor's announcement:

  • COVID-19 testing at Veteran’s Park and Norwalk Community College will return to normal hours of operation tomorrow, February 3.
  • Food distribution at Calf Pasture Beach tomorrow, February 3, will move forward as originally scheduled. Food will be available from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • City garbage and recycling collection resumes tomorrow, February 3. Each collection is pushed back by two days, meaning Monday routes will now be collected on Wednesday, continuing through Sunday.
