Norwalk Man Arrested In Drug Bust: Stamford Police

NORWALK, CT—Last Thursday, Stamford Police arrested a 23-year-old Norwalk man who allegedly had been selling large quantities of powder cocaine in the city and throughout Fairfield County.

The Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime, with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the Norwalk Police Special Services Division, arrested Jefrey Polanco-Genao of 10 Neptune Ave. in Norwalk near his home last Thursday.

"This was a several week investigation. He was involved in high-level cocaine sales, and was very active in Stamford even though he lived in Norwalk. He'd deliver a decent amount of cocaine throughout the region in his 2013 Honda Accord," said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.

Polanco-Genao was stopped in his car around 4 p.m. last Thursday near his home, and a series of search and seizure warrants were executed on the car and at his residence.

"Approximately 4.8 ounces of high-grade powdered cocaine was located within that residence in a locked cabinet. In addition, $8,400 in cash was seized, the majority of that in a locked safe in that house," Conklin added.

Authorities also found a Smith and Wesson 40 cal. semi-automatic pistol, which was loaded with 10, 40 cal. rounds. The gun was reported stolen in North Carolina. Polanco-Genao was also in possession of a high capacity magazine.

Polanco-Genao was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell over one ounce, operating a drug factory, theft of a firearm and possession of a high capacity magazine. Polanco was issued a $250,000 bond.
