STAMFORD, CT — Brandon Wagshol, the 23-year-old Norwalk man who police said showed an interest in committing a mass shooting, was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison as part of a plea deal with prosecutors, reported The Hour.

Wagshol was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Gary White in Stamford, who gave Wagshol a 10-year sentence, suspended after he serves four years. In addition to prison, White also sentenced Wagshol to serve five years of probation following his incarceration, and he must register with a deadly weapon registry which would prohibit him from owning guns.

He was given the sentence after agreeing to plead guilty to second-degree assault and illegal possession of high-capacity (gun) magazines.
