Norwalk, CT–On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, the Norwalk Mentor Program will host a celebration at Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk from 5:30-7:30 pm to celebrate National Mentoring Month.
The mission of the Norwalk Mentor Program is to encourage the social, academic and mental growth of Norwalk’s youth through a one-on-one mentoring relationship, where a caring adult serves as a role model to a student as he or she goes through a difficult period or faces new challenges. Mentors meet their student mentees one hour per week, every week, at their school during the school year.

This year is slated to be our largest celebration in recent history, as the Norwalk Mentor Program now serves over 300 Norwalk Students. More than 600 people will be invited to attend this fun evening to celebrate! The event is by invitation only and allows mentors and their student mentees to see each other outside of school, and for parents and mentors to meet as well.
In addition to our amazing mentors who volunteer their time all year long to make a difference in the lives of these students, the event could not be made possible without the support of local businesses and community members. We are fortunate to have 8 event sponsors: Spinnaker Real Estate Partners; Sequel International; Iridian Asset Management; Reed Exhibitions; Patriot Bank; PDC International; Laurance A. and Diane M. Selnick; and King Industries. We are grateful to them for making this evening possible. Our program thrives and reaches more young people because of their dedication.
A special thanks to True North Team Building in Bethel, for providing an interactive “Rhythm Jam” for the students and Winfield Italian Deli in Westport, for providing the delicious food and finally, to Stepping Stones Museum for Children, for being our gracious host and opening the museum after hours, to hold the celebration and let our students use all of their interactive exhibits, year after year. We are proud to partner with all of you.
