Norwalk Moms’ Schedules Get Less Busy with Help from VanGo
VanGo, a ride service for Norwalk kids & teens, is helping local families shuttle their children safely to and from school and activities.

NORWALK, CT—You have an important presentation at work, and your husband is out of town on a business trip so he can’t pick up your two as planned. You’re stressed and scrambling to get a ride to gymnastics for one child and across town to get your other children to their tutoring session and piano lesson. Can you relate? Enter VanGo, a new ride service just for kids and teens.
Similar to Uber and Lyft, VanGo allows customers to schedule daily rides, however VanGo offers clients the ability to schedule rides for their child up to one month in advance, giving busy parents peace of mind. Parents are assured that their child will get to their destination on time with real-time alerts in the VanGo app along the way.
Marta Jamrozik, created the company in 2018 specifically to support working moms.

“When I was growing up, my mom worked full-time, was our family’s primary breadwinner, and was still expected to do the majority of the household and childcare work back at home. Working moms today face that same exact pressure, and do twice as much as unpaid household and childcare work as dads do while maintaining a career. We’re creating a local support system for moms to get help from trusted members of their community, starting with children’s transportation.”
Prior to VanGo, Jamrozik worked at Mondelēz, a Fortune 500 snacks company, where she led new product introductions targeted specifically at moms.

Unlike many other ride services, all VanGo drivers are fingerprinted, reference checked, and have their vehicle inspected by a local, certified mechanic. Over 85 percent of VanGo drivers are local moms themselves, and all drivers have 3+ years of childcare experience, so parents know their child is in good hands.
One local mom, Jennifer W., said of the service, “It's hard to be a working mom and worry about getting safe and reliable rides for our kids. I am so grateful for this service which is not 'embarrassing' for my teen/tween and gives me peace of mind. I only wish I found VanGo sooner.”
Christina Zullo, a driver with VanGo, said, “I decided to drive with VanGo because it is well-needed in Fairfield County. I certainly could have used it when my kids were younger! You personally get to know the drivers of VanGo, and I believe that is needed in a community for the safety of all of our kids.”
VanGo is available in Norwalk, as well as all of Fairfield County. VanGo launched in Fairfield County in June 2018, and has since expanded to Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix. Jamrozik expects to expand to more markets in the fall.
Rides start at $16 and up. For more information or to download the app, visit VanGo at RideVanGo.com.
