Norwalk Police to Commemorate Officers Who Lost Their Lives in Service
The police memorial commemoration will take place at 11 a.m on May 8.

Norwak police on Friday, May 8 again will commemorate police officers who died in the line of duty.
A flag raising ceremony will take place at Norwalk Police Headquarters at 11 a.m., particularly in remembrance of four officers from the Norwalk police force:
Sgt. Frank Stratton, who died in 1930Off. Sherrald Gorton (1962)Sgt. Nicholas Fera (1971)Off. Marco Carias (1982)Each year the ceremony takes place on or about the week of May 15, designated nationally as Police Memorial Week.

“During this week of remembrance, we pause to honor the memory of our brother and sister officers who have lost their lives in the service of the communities they loved so very much,” according to a statement released by the department. “It is also a time to reflect upon the impact of such a loss on the officer’s family, comrades and the entire community.”
