Norwalk Police Investigating Wednesday Night Shooting

An unidentified man in his 20s was injured on Third Street Wednesday night in the second shooting in Norwalk within the past week, according to the Hour.

The victim was shot in the left leg and two suspects fled the scene on foot, according to Lt. Thomas Mattera. The suspect's injury was deemed non life-threatening, according to the Hour.

The department received numerous phone calls reporting gunfire next to the Marvin Senior Community at 60 Gregory Boulevard shortly before 10:30 p.m. and, en route, a resident reported that the victim was shot. Two handguns and multiple shell cases were recovered at the scene, according to the Hour.

On July 4, three men were shot while walking in the Golden Hill neighborhood. The men were on Taylor Avenue and walking toward Keith Street when one was shot in the ankle and two were shot in their “lower extremities,” police said.

The department is asking anyone with information about Wednesday night's shooting to contact the detective bureau at (203) 854-3011.
