Norwalk's Stroffolino Bridge To Be Closed 3 Times In October

The bridge, which spans the Norwalk River between East and South Norwalk, is undergoing repairs.

CTDOT: The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the Stroffolino Bridge carrying Route 136 over the Norwalk River will be closed to all vehicular, pedestrian, and water traffic on the following dates and times:

· Monday, October 7, Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 9: 9 PM – 6 AM

· Monday, October 14, Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16: 9 PM – 6 AM

· Monday, October 21, Tuesday, October 22, and Wednesday, October 23: 9 PM – 6 AM

Construction crews will be installing and adjusting lock machinery at the toe of both movable sections of the Bridge. There will only be night closures to help minimize the impact on traffic. Detours will be in place. Additional signage and police officers will be posted along detour routes. The work is weather dependent, and the schedule may change.
